Call of the Blues is an interactive evening of music, songs, folktales and personal stories that examines our collective response to the
Blues. The show explores themes of enslaved peoples; working class poverty and protest; the 19th & 20th century struggle of man
against machine and humanity’s current 21st century concerns about; all in the light of the Blues/Spirituals tradition as a catalyst of resilience and hope.
The Barnone Brothers is a collaboration between singer, musician and artist, Bill Taylor Beales, and performance storyteller, Phil Okwedy.

He has been telling spontaneous stories since 2010, performing at community events, parties, festivals and self organised events. Join storyteller Alice Courvoisier for a retelling of Odysseus Great Wanderings as he travels home to Ithaca following the legendary sack of Troy. On his decade long journey around the Mediterranean, he deals with mighty seas and powerful winds, the whims of the Olympian gods, flesh-eating monsters, bewitching women, the oracle of a dead prophet and a mutinous crew.
